Hello (Remember me?),
I have a random question regarding animal experience. I know you all have different opinions on this topic and I'd like to hear them! Well, I am a crazy parrot person, specifically MACAWS!
If you don't mind telling me, Would I add this to animal experience to the schools that would say don't put pets unless it's a unique experience? I also breed Leopard Geckos (by chance not intentionally). This is a unique experience, so yes I am putting this down.
But owning parrots is a unique experience in itself. My parents and I will pull our own parrots bloods feathers, clip their nails, trim their beaks, and anything else (administering meds orally). I know most of you do not own parrots, but to not have to go to the vet every ten seconds, you need to know quite a bit. We have seven parrots: 2 lg. Macaws, 1 mini macaw, 1 sun conure, 2 cockatiels, and one Congo African Grey. And because of the amount of parrots we care for, there are many different things I learn about them. One is a chronic egg layer, and may need the luprin injections. You know what I mean... Would I put this type of pet ownership down?
I'm a junior in High School, and I work for a Certified Avian Vet. I'm just wondering... Thank you! 😀
