question about AZPOD! please answer

hey fellow pre-pods and pods to be, as well as pods
lot of pods in that sentence. heh

i wanted to ask about the AZPOD supplimental application. i just got an email that my app has been processed and "im invited" to fill out a supp. application.
i havent gotten anything in the mail yet with my log on. but if any of you have info, those who have interviewed etc---

1. Is azpod's class full now? no interviews in the spring?
2. Is the supplemental app something they do with everyone and a formality OR are they really interested?

To those of you who have interviewed at both Temple and AZPOD:
How would u compare those 2? Pros/Cons of the PROGRAM! how are the students? How is the faculty? how was the interview?

I've read and checked the interview feedback, im just trying to get a feel of those 2 and how they compare amongst ppl who interviewed there recently.

The class of 2012 is ABSOLUTELY NOT full. I spoke with one of our professors just now, and the class is VERY open. Lots of spots yet to fill.

Out of curiousity, how many new students will AZPod be looking to have matriculate this coming fall now that they are accredited?

Also, is there any talk of generating some new PMS residency programs in the area? Usually, when a pod school opens, the number of DPMs in the area goes up fairly dramatically and new residency genesis follows soon afterwards. I haven't heard or seen anything about new programs in the area, but maybe there is word among students there?

I have been told they plan on around the same number of students, between 30 and 40.

There is talk of starting some residency programs. 2-4 from what I have heard, but as you said, it is just starting so no details yet.

Is the second year of AZPOD integrated with the DOs as well. Which classes?

Yep. Anat, Histo, Biochem, Embryo, Physio, Path, Micro, Pharm etc etc. All basic science classes are w/ D.O. Half the time no one knows if you are D.O. or POd, and almost no one cares.

No. If you look like a good app, they may invite you. I think of it as a process. If you are baking a cake, it doesn't matter if you add the sugar first or the flour (or vice versa). As long as it all gets in, you are good. (I am pretty proud of that analogy)

I really like that analogy haha. I recently received the supp.app email and was wondering what format it is as well. Im really excited about AZPod and I cant stop browsing these forums instead of studying for my biochem exam! Ahh

The interact program online never showed that they received my transcripts. I kept calling the office and they said that they had my application and it was complete, so I should wait to hear from them. I received interviews at all the other schools within a week of submitting my app, so I thought that was weird, but ok, I listened to them. After about a month one of my undergrad advisors gave them a call and we discovered the actual pod school never received my app, hence the lack of interview offer. It turns out that AzPod has an admissions dept that processes admissions paperwork for all Midwestern's many schools, then forwards it to the appropriate one. Unfortunately this didn't happen with mine... It worked out in the end, but was a pain. If you really are expecting an interview and haven't heard back from them, and keep getting brushed off by the admissions dept, I'd call the dean.

The whole admissions situation at AZPOD pissed me off. In November, I got an email from them around 1:00am monday about receiving an interview. Turns out it was for Thursday or Friday of the same week! I heard other people had similar situations. The annoying thing was the next interviews after these 2 were a month later...in december.

I received an email telling me to fill out a supplemental, and it said the login would come in the mail. Then I got an offer to interview before I ever received the login information. I waited a week and then called the school and they gave me the login information over the phone. I did not have any problem scheduling my interview because of this however.
