do all bio, math, physics, and chem courses go into your BCPM gpa? What about upper level math and physics courses well beyond med school prereqs? I guess my question boils down to this: does your BCPM gpa focus only on prereqs or all courses including upper level physics and math (which seem to be much less aimed at medical school)?

As always, I am thankful for your help.

In AMCAS, the verified GPA's are broken down by BCPM (all courses; including upper division) and AO.

In those two divisions (BCPM v. AO) there is further division (which shows trends) according to courses completed in High School, Freshman, So, Jun, Sen, Postbacc, Cumulative Grad and Grad. P/F, A/P, and CLEP are also indicated.

If that doesn't answer your question sufficiently, you might want to take a look at the Post Bacc forum which contains several threads addressing BCPM GPA. This thread in particular seems useful, since it points at the instruction book:

Yes, they all count unless they are grad school courses and then they also go under BPM but for grad school stuff only. Meaning if you have undergrad BCPM that is calculated for undergrad courses only, then a separate BCPM is for graduate school, etc..clear as mud?

thanks again, that cleared up my question!
