OK, well my status on the U of Buffalo site says Continuing Review. Does anyone know what that means exactly? Also, how many spots are still available?

if you've been under "continuing review" for a couple months, it's not a good sign...

Continuing review means they werent ready to give you an interview or reject you, essentially it means you are a competitive applicant, they dont want to turn you down yet, but they arent ready to offer you an interview, therefore you application keeps popping up at every adcom meeting until they are ready to make a decision.

hope that helps

no way! competitive applicants get interviews and acceptances... mediocre applicants get "under review" brushoffs... and unqualified applicants get rejections.

sorry if that's harsh, but it's the truth!

What it means is that you are still in the hunt for an interview and that every single time the adcom meets you have the opportunity to get an interview, and thats all that matters, because once you get an interview its a completely leveled playing field...

But i agree if it has been there for several months you should inquire with the school

I guess I should've stated that it's been in that state since 1/11. If that helps.

I'm in the same boat. I got the letter saying I was in "Continuing Review" on Jan 2.

i wouldn't worry about being on review for a few weeks... i would however worry about having applied so late!

I applied semi-early (e-submitted 7/20/05) and was already accepted to Pitt (12/1/05). Buffalo is my first choice and I have yet to get an interview...damn continuing review. What I do not understand is that some people have gotten rejected from Pitt and got into Buffalo. I am also a NY resident. Can anyone explain that? Is it just a waiting game or should I call Buffalo and tell them that I am sending my deposit to Pitt BUT I would rather go to Buffalo? Will Buffalo know if I accept at Pitt, will it hurt my chances in getting an interview/acceptance at Buffalo?

I have a 3.7+ GPA and 21/21/20 DAT. I interviewed at Penn (accepted) and Harvard (no word yet). I think I'm pretty competitive but, I'm still under "continuing review" at Buffalo. But I do agree that being under review for a long time is a BAD sign. I have no clue why I am. Part of the reason might be that I'm Canadian and Buffalo is a state school. Another reason may be that I applied a little late. Either way, they still had many opportunities to review my file and still decided not to give me an interview. I guess they didn't like my PS or my letters but if Harvard and Penn thought my PS, ECs and letters were good enough, I don't know why Buffalo is hating on me.

Either way, I won't be bitter. Buffalo is a great school and I think it gives you the most value for the tuition. And even if it came out to $72K like Penn a year, I'd still think Buffalo is a great choice!

i don't know why buffalo is snubbing you audio. your stats are better than mine and i got in out of state dec. 1

i hope you get my spot if i don't matriculate!

Maybe because he's not just out of state but out of country.
