Would it be okay to call the admissions office post-interview, before they send you a letter, to see what their current decision is?

I think other people have done it - it's probably to be expected at this point!

Also, if it's near the date when you were told you would hear a decision then it's probably fine - but just so you know, most schools won't really let you know their final decision over the phone.

It's worth a shot though.

My guess is that you probably will annoy the person you speak to and not get anywhere, but I doubt it would hurt you in any way.

how long has it been since your interview? hours, days, weeks, months?? if youre going to call, ask about how long you should expect to wait for a decision. theyll tell you 6-8 weeks, 12...till Feb. 22 (or whatever random date they plan to meet) after that time has lapsed then call to see if a decision has been made. be patient...waiting is the toughest part.. 🙂

I've done it. Just make sure you say something like, "sorry to bother you but I'm eager to know the status of my application" And don't do it every other day, use common sense.

I've done it twice.. and they don't seem to mind 🙂 I usually start off asking whether my file has gone to committee yet. If it has, they just straight out tell me whether i've been accepted or waitlisted.

just called washu......no decision has been made yet.....so i guess i havent gone to the committee yet or was reshuffled back......... 😳 🙁 , im going to send a letter of intent after the break

the adcom meeting was on monday and they said i should hear something by the first part of next week, but im just anxious.
