Hello,
I had a question regarding Step 1 scores for Cleveland Clinic and UofM. Does anyone now if they have a cutoff? I have a score of 228 and I was hoping I could interview/match into either one of these programs. Whats the average Step 1 score for people that match there into Neurology?
thanks for the help

I'm really curious why you've looked into these two programs?

Though it was 5 years ago, I interviewed at both those places with a very similar score. My guess is that's roughly average or a little below average for those institutions. You won't get weeded out unless they see something else on your application they don't like.

Well I'm from Michigan and I want to stay close to home so I want to stay in the Midwest. These are from what I've seen the real recognized programs around here. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Be sure to apply to Case Western's Neurology Residency as well.

I wasn't offered an interview at the Cleveland Clinic for neuro, and my USMLE score was higher than the OP's. I was a bit pissed since I heard it was a really solid program from others on the interview trail. The CCF reputation is enormous worldwide, their pioneering advancements in medicine is remarkable, and their facilities are ever growing. Someone here mentioned the Case Western University Hospitals neuro program and I did interviewed there. I really hated their atmosphere, some of their key faculty were plain obnoxious, and their residents were utterly miserable. Don't have any experience with UofM, sorry.

In all, don't loose hope, apply, and perhaps your local connection to the region may help with the process.
