I've been hearing that committee letters are better, but want to know what exactly makes it better, than it is to select your own people to write for you.
I've heard that for committee letters, you'd go in for an interview and based off that (along with your grades) they will write you a structured letter. But my question is:
1. the committee pools information from the professors you've taken (and so what if they chose someone who you didn't really know that well to begin with?). I personally would not want (and perhaps even trust) the committee to send out a letter that might jeopardize my chances at getting into dental schools. OR are these committee letters scripted/rigged in your favor? (UCBX program here)
2. also under the circumstance that a student took science courses through several different institutions, may it possibly be better to have one from each institution? (I don't know..could be interpreted as adaptability?)
