question about DAT. How detail should you know about biological diversity?

I am studying AP cliff bio and going thru the biological diversity section.
There are so many information on Kingdom protista, Fungi and plantae.
There are names to all parts of body, and it mentions life cycles for each groups. Also, there are so many characteristics for each group...
This is so much to memorize..
I am not sure if these would be on DAT, or I am wasting my time. Please give me some advice.

Know the basics about everything.
What types of protists are there? etc just don't start memorizing names you have never seen before.
