Can I use my scratch paper to fold during the PAT section? It helps me if I can see how they folded the paper to tell where the hole punches would be. So do they allow this or is that considered cheating?

Well, you are given scrap paper, so I guess you can do whatever you like with it.

I don't see why not, but you really shouldn't be thinking in these terms - time limit, time limit, time limit. Plus, the hole punch section is not that difficult and you have bigger things to contend with - e.g. that pesky pattern folding section.

This indicates that you still haven't mastered this section. This should be one of the easier sections of the PAT and I suggest that you read up on some of the study guides and acquire the skills needed such that you will not have to fold the papers during exam time. If you start fiddling with the papers, I guarantee you that you will run out of time on PAT.

Well, I've only taken the first practice test and I didn't have a problem with time in the PAT and I got 14/15 right, so I don't think I have a huge problem with the concept... I just wanted to see that it was possible to use the scratch sheet of paper on a few of the questions.

I have the feeling that folding the paper is against the rules. I am not sure where the official rules of the DAT are published, but I would really not recommend relying on folding scrap paper as a method for answering questions on the PAT.

Sometimes I need to make paper airplanes. Would this be allowed with scratch paper?
