I always wanted to go the nursing route, but I fell behind in school and it didn't happen. Ended up with a psychology degree with a good gpa (3.7) but at the same time wanted a career in healthcare but in the business aspect. I have worked as a project manager for a medical construction company for 5 years and 10 years overall experience.
I don't have a MPH degree available in my area, and the only one that I could attend(2 hrs away) requires that you have 3 yrs experience in healthcare already. My question: If I wanted to get into Healthcare Admin/Management, could I do so (albeit starting lower on the totem pole) with an MBA with the combination of another degree? I have been a hospice volunteer for 3 years as well and have extensive work experience in hospital although it wasn't as a healthcare worker, I know the ins and outs of hospital setting, oscha, hospital systems, mri's/cath lab/ct/linac and servers.
I just want to do whatever will make me a competitive applicant but don't feel at this point I can remake my career and go to nursing school
Thanks for any and all replies
