Question about delaying Step 2 CK

Hi everyone. I did not do well on Step 1 (211), and would like to improve significantly on Step 2. Currently I'm scoring in the 230s and am scheduled to take it next week. My goal is 240, so I'm thinking about delaying it for another month until mid August and taking it after my next away rotation (only 13 shifts, so I'll have time to study).

I want my CK score to be available by the time applications are submitted. So long as my score is in by October 1st I should be ok? Taking the exam in mid-August should still allow this to happen right?

http://www.usmle.org/announcements/default.aspx According to this there will be a delay in reporting scores from July through late August. Usually it takes 4 weeks though.

Isn't ERAS released by September 15th? That would be the date you want your CK score to be available by, not October 1st.

If it is released by October 1st, it should be fine. I was told many programs don't look at applications until deans letter is out which is October 1st.
