hello everyone......im going to apply for dental school early this year

my dat is 17AA and gpa of 3.1 overall.......
does anyone has the admissions stats for 2009??? 2010???

here's a chapter from last year's edition, its free and it should give you a relative perspective. Although i'm not an expert, your stats might be on the low side, you would probably need to either retake the DAT and score must higher or take more classes to boost up your GPA.

The book Yankeefan86 is referring to is EXTREMELY helpful. My pre-health advisor had a copy sent to him and he lent it to me. I looked through it, used sticky notes to indicate the pages I found helpful, and went to photocopy them. I photocopied 50+ pages. If you can I would def recommend to buy that book.

the link I provided is the book that yankee mentioned! it just has all the stuff u need w/o the fluff or the $35 fee. its last years edition.

Ya I bought the book, it's really good. It gives all the 411 you need about diffrent dental schools

you can use this website to see the latest avrg stats of all the dental schools being compared to OSU

Id believe all those except UMDNJ, they're picky and probably are around the 3.7 mark or close it. I know friends who had the necessary stats and still didn't get in. So while I am not discouring you from applying there, dont get your hopes up about getting in. Focus on the others and you'll probably get in, if you have a good enough DAT score. I'm applying to a lot of east coast schools myself, but dont forget about a lot of west coast schools such as ASDOH, Western, USN that take students with 3.3s and 3.4s with 20s and 21s.

Yes, you're right. I need to look into OOS-friendly schools on the west coast...or anywhere really. I think my final semester will bring me down to ~3.68 overall gpa. So i'm a little worried but hopefully I will do well on my DATs:xf: and I'll be o.k.
