Question about Denture investing and casting

Dear everyone 🙂 I was wondering if you could help me with a short question.

In both my dentures and fixed prosthodontics classes, I have been hearing the term INVESTING and CASTING. What do those words mean?

What is investing and what is casting?

Investing: the process of covering or enveloping (wholly or in part) an object such as a denture, tooth, wax form, crown, with a suitable investment material before processing, soldering, or casting

Casting: the act of forming an object in a mold

Investing would include models being submerged in stone/plaster for processing or investing a wax-up TO BE casted afterwards. Casting really only takes place when doing C/B, RPD's, or Implant Bars etc.
