Hey, a question for the panel. I have heard back from everyone but DMU. I have a friend who goes to azpod, interviewed at dmu last year. He says he was turned down because he wasn't finishing his bachelor and had not yet taken the mcat. Is that how dmu always rolls?
I also will not finish my bachelors, and have not yet taken mcat. However, my gpa is very high, and have a ton of medical and volunteer experience. Any reply is appreciated. Thanks

You do not need to have a BA or BS to get in. I'm sitting next to a third year who does not have a degree.

You will need to take the MCAT, that is required.

There are 1-2 students in the second year class that do not have a Bachelors as well.

Here is a little more detail. I am taking mcat first of year, and indicated that on my app. Everything else looks great. But I have got no love! DMU was my first choice coming in, but I have received only one letter. (that basically said, "got the app, talk with ya later". So what I am really wondering is am I getting blacklisted for not yet having mcat, and not planning on a B.S.?😡 I wanted to at least see if dmu is all it is said to be. Guess it's their loss.

Just give it time. It's early in the app. cycle. I didn't get interviewed until mid march last year (applied in late feb). It usually takes a few weeks, DMU is getting a lot of apps this year so they'll be able to screen. You should get an interview/hear from them soon. Good luck.

I got in with a BA

oh and what a pretty avatar you have

DMU actually mailed a packet to the address that I had on my app and it contained a letter that said to call the office and set up an interview. If they gave you a number for admissions you might want to call that and see the status of your application.

Well,

If you are going in without a degree and DMU doesn't work out for you, look into the Scholl Program. You will be granted a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences after you complete the second year. They also have a competitive curriculum and excellent early clinical experiences. In addition, you get 8 core clinical rotations and are able to spend the 4th year where you want.

Good Luck 👍

DMU has a similar program. If you enter w/ your pre-reqs for graduation you can get a B.S. or B.A. from your undergrad. You can talk to Meghan in admissions about it.

We also jump higher and run faster.

I'm sure every program has a similar program. Also the thread was about DMU not Scholl so if you are going to make sacastic comments should they not be directed to the other poster?

Also, not every pre-pod poster is an expert like you. I know that you know everything but all of us are not that lucky. Some of us a just simple zombies.

hold on! i didnt meant in sarcastic way. i was just saying in a funny way. was i rude or sarcastic? iam sorry! really i didnt meant in that way.
