AACOMAS only goes up to A. I know AMCAS lets you enter A+ but only gives you 4.0 for it. Should I enter the grade as A+, but then choose A from the corresponding "AACOMAS" grade? I've only got 1...but I just wanna make sure I label it properly so there's no problems when submitting.

The only thing I can find in the Instructions manual is "If the institution values +/- grades differently from the AACOMAS grading system above, please enter the value in the AACOMAS Grade column."

Also, should AP courses be considered Freshman year? Also, should I enter W as a grade for Withdrawn classes, or leave it blank and just select Withdrawn from the dropdown? Instructions don't say either way.

There won't be any problems entering it as an "A". You won't get more than a 4.0 on the GPA scale for it. I wouldn't worry about it slowing down verification. I guess you technically could enter it as an A+, but they're just going to change back anyway.

That's what I was curious about...Just entering it as an A+ in the text box and selecting A from the dropdown menu, or just entering A and selecting A. I'll go with what you said.

Now what about the other 2 questions?

1. Can't say for sure about the AP stuff. Someone else will have to answer that.
2. I would enter W if it will let you.

Enter it as an A+, select A from dropdown. They will leave it like that, I got one too. Plus the schools will see you got an A+ and did great in the course.

AP courses should be entered as Fall of Freshman year as Advanced Placement. Last year they made the units all 0 and then added a separate "course" in other non-science titled advanced placement units, added the total # of units and then put no grade and advanced placement.

W should be entered as a W and Withdrawn in the dropdown.

I had all of these things last year so I'm just going by how they verified my application.

Thanks for your help. What should I put as the course number? There's none on my transcript.

you may just leave blank as there is nothing in your transcript

Also, does AACOMAS take a lot longer to acknowledge receipt of transcripts? I sent one in 2 weeks ago..

I'm in the same situation. I sent my transcript in 2 weeks ago. AAMC emailed me saying they received it 3 days after I sent it but I have been waiting for 2 weeks for AACOMAS to update. I emailed them today and I am waiting for their response.

Same here. AMCAS got it pretty quickly, but no luck here.
