I will have played four years of varsity baseball when I graduate college in 2011, will this look good on my applications because of the time consumption...Or did it just eat my chances at volunteer time and shadowing time and just hurt me...My volunteer and shadowing hours will be low because of baseball...

Well im doing a 3 hour research class now and am planning on shadowing next summer so maybe 1 summer of shadowing and i don't know 30 hours of volunteer...I'm hoping that maybe the pure number of hours i spend doing baseball everyweek and still maintaining a 4.0 gpa will mean something...WHat do you guys think during the fall we do about 6 hours a day 4 days a week, spring is a little more time per week...

That's a really small amount of research/clinical volunteer work. They understand how much time baseball takes up, but they nevertheless need to know that you'll make a good doctor. And it'll be harder for them to take your word for it with such little research/clinical experience...
