Hello,
I am going to apologize for this, because I know this has probably been asked before. My question is which service has the highest chance of getting a gmo prior to finishing your internship and residency.

Thanks

also, what has the lowest, it seems like the army, is that correct? does that mean that most of their hpsp docs will be going into an internship and residency straight after med school?

Yes, for the most part, although everything is subject to change. Right now unless you apply for a specialty in primary care (Peds, FP, IM) in the Air Force or Navy, chances are good that you will have to do a GMO tour first. The Army seems to have more slots available in residencies than the other two services.

But there can always be changes, and especially if you're looking several years down the road I would not base any choices off the current situation.
