I have an interesting conundrum. I left high school without a college preparatory curriculum degree, so when I started college at a CC, I had to make up these course per board of regent policy. The courses I took for the college prep deficiencies were considered college level courses, but my insitutiton did not include them in the GPA because I took them to remedy a CPC deficiency. In addition, I also had to take remedial courses in mathematics to remedy deficiencies there.

For example:

For a social science deficiency, I had to take sociology. I got an A in the class, which was a regular college-level intro course. Because I took it for the board of regents to meet CPC deficiency requirements, it did not count as GPA hours for my GPA calculation and did not count toward my degree.

When I transferred to a university in the same system, these were also not transferrable for the same reason.

Obviously, I will need to submit the grades from the CC that I attended. I notice on the application that it seems that the user enters the grades, it is not done upon receipt of the transcripts by AACOMAS. Does this mean, when it comes time for me to apply, that I should enter these on the application? I do not want to appear to be trying to cheat on the GPA calculation, it is just I do not know how to handle this situation. I could find no information on how to deal with college preparatory curriculum deficiency credits. I assume that is because it is something unique to my state, but I could not verify. What do the rest of you think?

AACOMAS only cares about what is shown on your transcript, and schools only care about what is on your AACOMAS. Copy your transcript exactly as it appears, and you won't have a problem.

Interesting. They appear with an asterisk on my transcript. I guess when the time comes, I will just put them in. Thanks!
