Question About Grades

I was wondering if W look bad when applying to school. Someone told me in Medical school they count W as fails, and was wondering is this the same for Pharmacy school? I'm not sure if I should drop a class because I am taking on way to many units and working full time isn't helping either. Should I just stick with the class and possibly get a C or get a W and take it again. Any advice would be great. Thanks

If I were you I would drop it like it's hot! No penalties for a W in any Pharmacy School I have seen.

Just so you know, I have like 15 W's on my transcripts and I got in somewhere. There is no way that they're counted as F's.

A few C's won't hurt you neither, just make sure you keep it to the minimum. I have 1 W my freshmen year b/c I was young and dumb and took too many credits, took it again next semester and got an A. I also have 1 C (in Ochem 2, I hate that class with a passion) when I applied and I got in.

hanks . Yeah a few C's will not hurt but my cell bio professor is crazy. The class average is a 56% and she doesn't curve. I am getting a 72% but i would still end up with a C, and who knows it might go down due to the final. Personally I think Chemistry is way better than Biology. Eeek. 🙂

At long island u.'s orientation last year, the dean said "a lot of your classmates are not here with you because of their withdrawals and unofficial withdrawals in pre-pharm.." so maybe it depends on the school.

FYI: Med schools don't count W's as F's. They just frown on multiple unjustified W's on your transcript but not in a quantitative sort of way.

Ohh okay I have no clue if they did or didn't. Someone told me so I believed them and just wanted to make sure about Pharmacy school. This will be my only W so im not going to sweat it. Thank you everyone.
