I'm going to be applying to DO schools next year, so I would like to save up letters of recommendation while my professors still know me well.

I'm just a bit confused about Interfolio. Say this: I make an account, make it confidential, add my letters writers, and then they submit the letter to Interfolio.

My question is, how do I (or do I even have to) get the letters to AACOMAS?

Another question, would these letters work if I also was applying to SMP programs? I just would like to have a backup plan but then my letter writers would have to be more general in th letter as they don't know whether I'm going to a Master's program or a DO program

You don't have to get the letters to AACOMAS. You can send letter packets directly to the schools from Interfolio.

There is also a way to get the letters to AACOMAS from Interfolio using the specific email assigned to each letter. AACOMAS will request a letter from the writer, but you give the document specific email, and Interfolio uploads that one to AACOMAS for you.

It would be best to ask your writers to draft separate letters. If you are close with them they may have no problem changing a few sentences and uploading two copies.

I sure hope you'll respond. I asked one of my professors that ive known for awhile if he could write me a letter.

He told me to send my transcript and an idea of why I want to be a doctor. He said not to send my personal statement, but I don't know how else to explain why I want to be a doctor.

It's been 3 days and he hasn't responded. I always figured that he was a lock to write me one, but I guess not.

Should I email him again?

Why would he respond if you haven't sent him what he wanted?

Sorry, should have mentioned that I did send him what he wanted and its been 3 days since I sent it.
Not knowing how else to explain it implied you didn't. And 3 days without a response is meaningless, especially if 2 of those were the weekend. 2-3 weeks is when I would start being concerned.

I know I'm not entitled to a letter by any means, if he says no, I'll move on.

I didn't know how to give an "idea" about that without writing a personal statement, so I just sent some personal stories of mine. He's not a medical school interviewer, he just wanted an idea, and I think I gave it to him.

I'm only worried because this professor always responds back within a day, most often the day of.
