so i just took my first kaplan diagnostic in class, and just got my scores back on the website. how much do people usually improve? everyone ive talked to has gone up a minimum of at least 8 points from first--->real test. but maybe theyre wrong or something. someone tell me im not crazy, im freaking out a little here 😡

8 point seems like a lot...I got a 15 on my diagnostic...i've been studying for 3 months and a practice test I took on monday I made a 19...I take the real one tomorrow...so I'll let you know

i got a 15 TS on diagnostic and a 20 on the real thing. dont base anything on the kaplan diagnostic. they are not realistic, being that they are shortened and i believe made harder so that you look better by the end test which is not as hard. thats my opinion. the class is worthless but the material you get is usefull.

just wanted to let everyone kno how much i really appreciate this SDN forum cuz let me tell u, im taking the DAT on Friday and havent been doing so hot on the practice exams so thanx a lot for all the motivation here! 👍

number one thing is to not let those achiever or kaplan scores get you down. I couldnt break 16 i think on any of my bio practice and i got a 23 on the real thing. If you feel like you cant study any more, then stop. your there just relax and take the test. also from my experience dont worry about the pat it wasnt as hard as everyone makes it out to be. just practice like a mofo.

thanks guys-im giving myself 15 days to read through all the sciences at least once and do the kaplan review questions and their extra practice q's,and then we'll see what happens after the kaplan "midterm" thing. maybe im just being neurotic about all this :/

i was totally freaking after the diagnostic. I was so sad when I got a 15...i felt stupid. I am sooo hoping that i will have the 8 pt. jump .

Well I took my test today. Here are my results:

PAT 19
QR 20
RC 19
BIO 20
GC 20
OC 17

TS 19
AA 19

Don't believe the 8 point jump. I'm sure it's possible, but on average probably not true.

Good luck to y'all

I went up from the Diagnostic, but not 8 points. I took the Diagnostic without studying at all. After 4 months of studying, it is only natural to go up a few points. I went up around 5 or 6 points on any given section. Keep in mind that it is easier to go from a 15 to a 20 than from a 20 to a 25. Don't look at the Diagnostic as an accurate display of your real score. Take it as motivation and study hard.

I am new to this whole predental thing. What is considered to be a good score that will get you into a dental school. I know 17 is the average. If 19 and above is considered good, then...Way to Go, GeauxTigers! By the way, does anyone know about the Kaplan course in Houston, TX? Like, how are the teachers and how well is the course taught?

Thanks to those who reply to my questions.
