I will need to rent a place for residency. I have put down my deposit on one apartment and am reviewing the leasing agreement before I sign it. I have one concern as bellowing:
Occupants: I have informed the management office that there will be 3 occupants ( myself, my mom and my 2ys old daughter ) in this one bedroom apartment, and my hubby and 6ys old son will be regular visitors. They agreed with that and my hubby and son are allowed to stay overnight.
The thing is, there is a chance that my son may come over to stay with me if my hubby were not able to take care of him by himself with a full time job. I plan to add my son on the occupants list just in case, but I am not exactly sure if the management office would agree with it since the size of apartment is small ( one bedroom). There is no restriction on the number of occupants on the lease contract, so theoretically I can list as many people as I want. The property is a high rising building with 24/7 doorman and very organized management, and I do not think I can just "sneak" my son in without letting them know. ( Of course, I will transfer to a larger apartment with them if my hubby moves in later on.)
So, my question is, can they stop me listing my son on the contract?
