hey all I have a question, my favorite school that I've always dreamed of going has put me on the waiting list. As a result I am willing to submit a letter of intent, in order to hopefully push me over the fence. I was reading from a post, advice recommended for writing a letter of intent. The link is

http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/official-letter-of-intent-letter-of-interest-tips.50676/

one person wrote, which I found to be good advice was this "You can also get your premed advisor or another person to write a letter of intent for you. This is essentially the same, but it attaches a more important name (and larger credibility) to your desire. Same rules apply regarding lying. But, now the stakes are higher. If you destroy the credibility of your premed advisor, that is a serious problem. Be sure of your desires before you write a strong letter of intent."

If I was to seek the help of my premed advisor, in order to write the letter how would I go about that? Would it be that she writes it and signs it and sends it? or is that I write it, then she signs it?

any input and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys so much.

You do realize that most med schools place no stock on LOI?

I think it would be better if you just wrote it and sent it yourself. Keep in mind that it may or may not help you, as Goro mentioned. It will depend on how much they value those letters, which varies from school to school. Good luck.
