Are LOIs/updates supposed to be snail mailed to schools or added as a word doc in the secondary application portals?

Is mailing more effective than uploading as a word doc? Or vice versa?

A Secondary application portal is for Secondaries, unless the instructions state otherwise. If the website information says the portal is also for updates, then that is your best mechanism to use for updates and LOIs.

For what it's worth, I recommend using .PDF for any electronic attachments to ensure that your formatting is preserved.
