Hi all,

I'm wondering how long it takes for letters to be submitted to AMCAS as well as MCAT scores. My understanding is that you can submit your application without your MCAT scores as long as the date you are taking it is included but how do LORs work? Do I need to verify that they are in my online application before submitting?

Hi all,

LORs are not needed to submit your AMCAS for verification. They will be needed for your verified application to be submitted to schools (if the school requires it--I think some schools don't need it until you submit your secondary).

Letter(s) sent electronically will be updated as "Received" within one (1) business day. Letters sent via mail can take up to fifteen (15) business days from the time the letters are received.

You can continue to add/assign letters after the initial submission of your application but you cannot edit or delete existing information after your initial submission

Here's the instruction manual: https://www.aamc.org/students/download/182162/data/amcas_instruction_manual.pdf
