im planning to apply for 2007.
This is my first time taking DAT.
i really did great on everything, except for RC.
i dont think i could get grade like this if i take DAT again.
(may be better RC grade, but still, i only scored around 17 for practice RCs)
Do you guys think my RC grade is going to hurt me much???
Although english is my second language... I did sooooooo bad on RC..... 🙁
please, give me some opinions....

RC 15............... 😱

AA 23

GPA 3.94

thank you..

wow! you are surely a genius! I think.. even though your RC is very low, your other scores will compensate for it. I say don't retake it, save your money. You may want to clarify it in your personal startement or other parts of the application.

I would call the particular schools you are interested in and ASK. 15 is pretty low and some schools don't lyke to see that, regardless of how high you scored on the other sections. Better safe than sorry. If you take it again, definitely focus your efforts on raising that RC score and I'm sure you will still score very well on the other sections--have faith in yourself!

hm... i dont have any particular school that i wanna go yet....
I think i have to get some information about schools first... and ask them...
thx.. both of you...

You gpa is great and so are the overall grades. I agree with philicity and call some of the top schools like UCLA, UCSF, UPenn, Harvard, etc and talk to them about the low RC score and how it will impact your chance of admissions.

Your grades and the rest of the scores will get you many interviews to some of the top schools.

Good luck.

Sick scores. You will get in for sure all they care for is the AA, the Sciences and the PAT all of which youve rocked. Any advice on the DAT. specially the sciences. What to look out for and etc. thanks

You will get in with these scores and great GPA, good job, If during an interview they asked you what happened to RC, you better be ready for a good answer. Are you an ESL student? or maybe you had to go to the bathroom during that section because you had a tacco before the test? 😛 j/k. Good luck.

Your scores and gpa will definitely get you into not only a good school but a great school. You may however have problems with schools like Harvard and alike. To further what arash above me said.... you must have an answer prepared as to why your score is this low. You will be questioned about it at every interview. It will be something to the tune of "All your scores are extremely impresive but what happened with the RC?" Just prep a good answer and get ready to interview just about anywhere you apply... good luck...

thanks for advices....

i was talking to temple admission adviser today... (i'm temple undergrade...)
he was like... " why don't you retake DAT. you gonna be ok if you improve your english score even your other section scores get lower than first one...."

what do u guys think about wut he said????

Congrats man! Those are some awesome scores!

Some schools do have a policy of having atleast 16 or 17 on each section to consider your appliaction competitive.
But, from what i've heard, if you take DAT multiple times, and score lower on sections on which you've previously scored higher, they consider your highest scores for admission purposes. Remember, they do get all your previous DAT scores when you retake this test.
So it might not be such a bad idea to retake it.

But, everything aside, you've done a very good job!

hey buddy... u are sure a genius! i wish i am not applying to the same schools as you because you do make my scores look pretty bad hehe.

oki just wanted to ask u about this-- why not take the TOEFL? as long as you score above 600 (as the paper TOEFL scoring system) you will be fine. I read this from many web pages of dental schools. maybe you can look into that. good luck!

I thought the highest you could get in general chemistry was a 28 even if you got all 30 questions right?

its not about reading, its about doing it fast Thats what i think gets most people. If you had inifinite amount of time for the reading, it is something you can ace.

This is good advice and is exactly what I would suggest to the OP.
