Question about NOVA (OOS)

Hi guys,

I used the search, but I could not find anything out about NOVA. My mailing date was 8/26, and I just received an email interview today (9/14)! I have not heard from any other schools yet...but I was wondering what are my chances of getting in since I'm from California. I'm not sure what next step to take, but should I reply to NOVA right away or is it okay if I wait until about next week to reply to wait for other schools?!

I did find other threads about NOVA, and it didn't look too promising since there are mixed reviews about that school.

Nova's private and as far as I know, does not hold OSS status against you. I would reply promptly (It's not like you can't cancel), but you could call the school and see if waiting a few days to get your schedule straight is OK by them. Probably best to get this kind of info straight from the horses mouth.

I would reply asap. Nova is a great school and I have a few friends who graduated from there and they were all from california. They loved it, and especially if this is your first interview, you wouldnt want to risk it. There program is very strong as well. Congrats😳

Thanks a lot for the reply! Since this is my first interview, if they happen to accept me before any of the California schools do, would I have to pay a monthly fee to keep my admission spot if I want to wait for CA schools to apply? My friend told me that for Pharmacy school she had to pay about $1000 per month to hold her spot. Is this true?

I'm from CA too and have an interview in November. The acceptance rate for OOS is like 30-40%. I looked it up in the ADEA book, but forgot. What I worry about is that they interview a ton of people like 400+ for like 100 spots, so the chances are like 25% then 30-40% of that since we are OOS. I'd still go to the interview since its your first one and call them ASAP. They are in their post Dec interviews, so you'll have a while to cancel if you decide. Plane trips pricey and so long, but the school is nice if you get in!
