Question about Pass/Fail Grading option

Do you think it would be fine if I took a General Ed music course with the pass/fail grading option? I am a fourth year at a UC and applying next cycle. I have never taken a course as a pass/fail so I was wondering if just one would be detrimental. The reason I want to take it pass/fail is because it would take A LOT of busy work and effort to get an A in this class. I do not want to get a B and have it lower my GPA. Any opinions welcome. I think that's fine considering it is not a science course. Just don't fail it though!
