It's about time for me to start thinking about my personal statement. Does AADSAS application have a word limit on your personal statement? If so, what's the maximum number of words it can be?

4500 characters, including spaces.

Wow, seems like you could use that amount up really quickly. I guess the motto here is "quality over quantity." Sometimes it's hard to write a really convincing personal statement with so few characters.

Think of it as writing a page single-spaced.

It is definitely restricted at 4500 characters, including spaces though.

You could say A LOT in a page...or say nothing at all in a page. I've seen it in the drafts that I've written. The first draft was crap. Just depends on how you want to say things and what you want to focus on 🙂

Don't exceed 4495 characters. There have been people who had the last five characters deleted after they submitted their app, meaning a school may mistakenly think the applicant didn't proofread his PS lol.

I would shoot for even fewer characters. Think 4000. Not because 4500 will get cut off by a computer...but because a more succinct statement tends to be a more easily remembered one. If you can craft a story which gives the reader the most bang for their buck, so to speak, then you are doing your job. Of course, some of our more verbose friends on here might tend to disagree. Brevity is the soul of wit.
