I noticed that when you want to work in pharmacies, sometimes it requires for pharm tech. So my question is is there a significant difference between getting the pharm tech from school and through an online course?

When you are getting it through the online course, does it cost a lot because I heard that there are some free (correct me if I'm wrong) courses that you can take and how long does it take to actually get pharm tech?

For the pharmacy school, is it really worh getting it because I heard that that it also comsumes a lot of time and effort to receive the license.

p.s: Are there any current UCLA or USC students out there by any chance please....??:laugh:

As my experience, I just took PTCB test and got a license. All stuff about pharmacy that I should know are learned from working.

Those courses may be expensive and time consuming. I think the easiest thing to do is to buy a pharm. tech review book (I chose Mosby's review book), study that and do the practice tests, and take the PTCB test. Once you are nationally certified you can then apply to get your CA pharm tech license. A long process, but worth it if you want to find some work experience

Oh so does that mean even if you pass the PTCB test, you still have to go through another application process before you can actually work at the pharmacy retail stores?

In California, after you get your certificate from the PTCB, you'll need to apply for the California tech license through the California BoP in Sacramento. It requires $50, a LiveScan fingerprint (that costs about $75, depending on location) and some other garbage. Check it out;

I don't think there's any reason in the world to take a tech course. Get a review book, spend a few weeks studying, take the exam - simple. 🙂
