Question about photos for secondaries
Started by cuwhenucme
What made you even think of this? Exactly zero schools require a photo with secondaries. Unless I'm crazy..
WVSOM may have the option to? Not 100% sure on that, I'd say majority of schools don't even have the option..

I had to do that with my MD apps, but not my DO.
If they require it it'll just be an online upload.

Was it Oklahoma State maybe...?MSUCOM required a picture, and at least one other DO school that I applied to but currently escapes me...
I just submitted it online, and the schools told me what size and I just cropped the photo on my computer to fit their specifications.

I didn't apply to MSUCOM. But has the secondary application already opened?

I didn't apply there, but it's certainly possible! Come to think of it, I think I had to attach a tiny little printed photo to my WCUCOM secondary (which had to be mailed in, hard copy).

I'm speaking from my experience applying last cycle. I don't think any secondaries have opened yet this year - schools haven't received primaries yet even 🙂

Thanks for sharing!🙂
It doesn't have to be a professional head shot, but I do specifically recall their being one school out of the 8 I sent primaries to requiring us to send in a picture. It just needed to be a decent, normal photo. Are we talking professional head shots?

I had a friend take a picture of me against a neutral background. I made sure to look presentable - I didn't wear business formal attire, more like business casual - a blouse with cardigan (I'm female), and made sure my hair/makeup was professional. I've heard of people going to Walgreens or equivalent to have a passport type photo snapped of them, but my method seemed to work fine as well.
I'm 97% sure that WVSOM asked me to submit a picture when I submitted the secondary. And during the interview day, they took your picture for the student ID even if you aren't accepted. They wanted to have to have it ready for the incoming students.
For my picture, (female), I did my hair, make-up, slipped only my interview jacket on (everything else was my pajamas), took the photo with the camera's self timer in front of a white wall. Then cropped it so just some of of the top of the jacket showed.

Marian and WVSOM were the only 2 out of the 18 I applied to that wanted a photo
mind sharing stats/schools that II you and accepted?Marian and WVSOM were the only 2 out of the 18 I applied to that wanted a photo
Take it to the PMs. It's kind of rude to ask someone their stats in a thread not dedicated to it.mind sharing stats/schools that II you and accepted?
you are overthinking itI know that many people have advised against a beard at interviews (saying that you should stay on the safe side and shave), but what about these secondary photos?
I think as long as you're not looking borderline homeless you'll be fine. A nice, groomed beard is not going to keep you from an interview.I know that many people have advised against a beard at interviews (saying that you should stay on the safe side and shave), but what about these secondary photos?
TCOM requires a photo to be submitted through TMDSAS.
NYIT does also

As someone that interviewed with a beard, I vehemently disagree with this outdated notion.I know that many people have advised against a beard at interviews (saying that you should stay on the safe side and shave), but what about these secondary photos?
I am a female with a beard... Should I shave it for my secondary photos and/or interviews?

Haha no, I actually look the same as I did in HS, so I found some of those and was going to crop those where I was wearing a blazer over a peach blouse for an award, But then I found my professional pharm sorority photos and used those.Literally gave me the chills.![]()
