Sorry about this being my first post, but I have come down with a flu, and I have a massive amount of school that needs to get done. I have been "lurking" around the forums for a while, and have been happy with most of the information I have been getting. Which is why I came here to ask a question.

I was prescribed a bottle of Tussionex, (Hydrocodone/Chlorpheniramine syrup), about 2 years ago. I have recently come down with the flu. Since I am currently paying for college by fed loans, going to the doctor isn't really feasible at the moment. The seal on the cap has been broken since prescribed date, but it has been concealed in my closet since then.

Off the top of my head, (and by research on the internet), I can't really find any information about the possible toxicity of expired Tussionex. I understand there is obviously going to be some degradation, but my main concern is if it would be toxic.

Yes, I understand it is usually the best idea to always follow the expiration dates, but I do not mind dealing with slightly less effectiveness, if there is no toxicity.

This is completely off the records, and I appreciate your post.

Thanks.http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...sg=AFQjCNH-tFOtameDhY7JfGkIgtl2_klnbw&cad=rja
