  1. Pre-Dental
I applied for dental schools last year but unfortunately i did not get accepted. I think mainly because i applied really late to most schools.

My overal GPA is a 3.1 and my science GPA is 3.4 ... i took the DAT the first time and got a 19 and i am in the process of retaking it again now to apple for the next cycle.

My question is .... during this time i did a MBA in public health. My GPA is 3.9 in the masters. Will this make my application stronger or since its a business masters and not a biomedical maters it will not make a difference in the application ???

Thanks

Anyone ...... ?

I know that the Dean at UIC College of Dentistry suggested to not do a MBA because it does not really reflect our ability to handle a heavy science load. But I guess since yours is in public health its different? I am not really sure but I would recommend you call the schools you are interested in and ask the ADCOMS.

Good luck

I don't think that MBA will make or break your application. Of course it looks nice with the 3.9 gpa but I wonder how much weight it will actually make. As for not getting into dental school, did you get any interviews because I can't imagine why you wouldn't even get a couple interviews with that gpa and a decent DAT score. If you didn't even get interviews, I would think the only reason is because you applied late, so just send in the application nice and early next time and you should be fine. My opinion anyways...

Either way, good luck! 🙂

By MBA in public health, do you mean you did a combined MBA/MPH program?
