I've seen that some schools have formal post bacc programs with a set curriculum in place to enhance your GPA. My GPA was 2.97 (yeah I know) so I'm thinking I'll probably need to boost it somehow with a program if I want to get in anywhere. The only issue is that I'm pretty far from any schools with post bacc programs and I'm not really able to relocate any time soon. I am, however, right down the street from my undergrad university. Is it possible to just take a bunch of upper division science courses there to enhance my GPA? Sort of like a DIY post bacc? I don't know, what you guys say?

Sounds like a plan

Really? That all there is to it?
Yes. Formal postbac programs are more structured and offer you detailed advising, guaranteed classes and a committee letter. They tend to be pretty expensive though.

Some people have taken prereqs at community colleges (some dental schools will not accept CC credits, fyi) and gotten in, so I don't see anything wrong with taking classes at a 4-year university.

It’s doable but you want to see how difficult it would be to get the classes you want if you’re not gonna be enrolled as a regular student. If you enroll as an open university student, most if not all universities give undergrads priority over you so you might not always get the classes you want. You can try it out though for a semester/quarter though and see how it goes. I would also take a full load of classes if you can and not just 1 or 2.

Talk to your academic advisors, or the undergaduate office.
