How are they scored, so I know how I am doing? I have heard there is some sort of adjusted score... can anyone give me any feedback on this? Thanks so much.

It's mostly based on percentage of questions you get right. So this is what I've noticed after reading multiple results that people post:
270/400 - 82
300/400 - 85
304-310/400 - 86
328/400 - 89
336/400 - 91
339/400 - 92
344/400 - 94

Pretty much if you get 84% questions right it will give you a score of 90. Just review people's raw scores to get a better impression.

I'm wondering whether the scores getting from those old exam papers are comparable to those new format NBDE tests .... saying like the 80's papers, almost 20 years ago 😕

Hard to say, but I did read here that people tend to do worse on the real exam than the released exams. It's hard to compare, especially if you're practicing the same exams over and over, you will always to better and give yourself false sense of security of how much you know. If you know your staff it doesn't matter what questions you get, since most books that prep you for the exam give much more detail than is tested, challenge is just know it all, under very stressful conditions.

Hi Huggies, thank you so much for your clear reply! It helps a lot. 👍
I have seen lots of repeated questions in the released papers from different years ... at least 30% always, with exact the same Qs. Are some of the released Qs still repeated nowdays? Another question is, are the exam topics that were focused in those old days still the same now? Thanks.

I have taken NBDE I a month ago and I could say that I feel that I would have much better score if I practiced the tests at least couple more times since I just browse through them just once 🙄 I’m going to do that next time since I’m retaking the test in couple of mounts because I’m not happy with my score . Yes you would have some repeats on the test word by word but more question would be very similar to those on the test ,more question are repetion from the latest tests but the topics that are in the new and the old test are the same that are covered on the actual test no surprises there and Huggies is right, most of the books are going too much in details ,the test is mostly based on the basic concepts if you are familiar with them then you shouldn`t have any problems ,yes always is going to be some question that you feel like you`ve never seen before  but overall what you are seeing on the released exams is what is going to be on the actual exam.

Basler, That's why I always say dental board busters is the best review. Basic concepts with the most up to date released exams. Take it once and be done with it.

I've never heard of dental board busters. Is there a dental board buster for Part II? What does is involve? How do you enroll or get access to this? Thanks for your time.
