So I have a question about some pre-req like English courses.
If I get credits (not graded one, just pass/fail), will it count as English credits for dental schools??
Or does it have to be graded English class..

Thank you.

Yes it will. When you sign up for the aadsas portal they require you to input ALL the classes that you take for your undergrad, even if it is pass/fail.

So English class (pass/fail) will count as English requirement for dental schools then?

Oh sorry i got confused! I feel like as long as you are getting credits for the class then you should be fine. But if i were you i should call the school and ask.

But i think you should be fine as long as you fulfill the English credit requirements

I think you should really take the time to find out if the dental schools require grades or not. There are a lot of schools that say on their website that you may not elect to take the pre-req classes as pass/fail. I literally just googled dental school pre-requisites pass/fail and got some blurbs from random schools:

Indiana:
  • All prerequisites must have letter grades; no PASS/FAIL options are accepted
Tufts: All pre-requisites must be taken for a letter grade. No Pass/Fail credits will be accepted, unless it is the policy of the college/university to only offer such evaluation.

Michigan: we will not accept pass/fail or credit/no credit. In addition, a grade of C- or lower will not be accepted to fulfill any part of the required 50 semester hours of prerequisite courses.

Pacific: Students may not elect pass/fail options in required course work unless a narrative transcript is provided by the college.

Kentucky: Prerequisite course work must be taken for a grade option, not pass-fail.

Once again I just googled these and copy pasted them here, I did not apply to all these schools myself but I just wanted to give you an idea that a lot of the schools want to see letter grades. (and idk if they differentiate between the core sciences and english composition classes either)

What happens if all of the English courses at your undergraduate institution are mandatory pass/fail? My university had that policy, and I don't know what to do about it since I did take three English courses.

Call a couple of the schools that you are interested in applying to and explain your situation, they will be more than willing to help you and will address these concerns better than SDN.

I think if that is your only option you might be ok but definitely call to be 100% sure. I think they just don't want you to elect pass/fail if you have the option to take is as a grade. Regardless just call admissions and they will let you know their policy for your specific situation.

That would require a little effort.
