Hey, in my med school application, would it be wise to include the fact that I am getting married? would it show maturity or is it just irrelevant? curious to know
also should i mention that i acknowledge my poor mcat performance (i took the mcat 3 time) ended up with a 505

Immature people get married all the time... I say it's irrelevant so I'd leave it out.

I would also take the advice of many others on this forum and leave out the mcat unless it fits into your story of why medicine.

Your ps isn't about excuses or addressing negative components of your app. There's very often an opportunity to do that on the secondary. Focus on why you're choosing medicine, how you know it's right for you, what characteristics or experiences you have that show your fitness, and how you see the future for yourself in medicine.

Would not apply to MD with 3 times MCAT with a 505 as most recent. TBH would not apply MD with a 505 and no retake. As you didn't mention, I'm assuming you are applying DO?

100% irrelevant.

As to your MCAT score(s)...why point out a red flag?

From a helpful post by @Med Ed :

(3) Don't include anything that is considered a normal part of existence for decent human beings. I have seen people list the deaths of relatives/friends in this section. If that event impacted your journey to medicine do yourself a favor and put it in the personal statement. I have seen people list being a husband/wife/father/mother/sister/brother/son/daughter/best friend in their experiences section. I can feel the earnestness oozing through the computer screen when I read these, but it doesn't make you look appealing. At best, it makes you look like a newborn fawn that just hobbled into traffic.

He made another helpful post about Personal statements. I would recommend reading both posts before submitting your application. There some good stuff in here: You're doing it wrong, part 1: your personal statement

Good luck!
