Hello!
So far, I have got two professor, and two dentists who are willing to write me a strong recommendation letter for this upcoming cycle.
However, some of the schools (ex. Columbia) requires 3 letters coming from professors.
Unfortunately, I have asked around almost all of the professors that I have encountered and the maximum letter that I could obtain from professor was just TWO..

I did found one additional calculus professor but he mentioned to me that it is going to be a generic letter stating my grades and stuff (since it has been a long time talking to him personally.)

In this case, is it even worth it to get a letter from my calaulus professor (generic) and apply to the schools requiring 3 letters (from professors)??

Please give me some feedbacks!

Thank you so much in advance!!

If I were you, I would ask the Calc Prof to coffee, suggesting that I could tell him why I want to go to dental school and give him a chance to get to know you better. This is what I am doing with all my professors. My lectures had about 400 students, so it was pretty difficult to get to know professors, so that's why I am going this route.

You should try that, and let him get to know you, and thus write a stronger letter 🙂 Hopefully he'll agree!

Best of luck!

thanks for your advice.
Unfortunately, he is on the exchange program right now to other country so I can't really ask him for a coffee or anything🙁

But thanks for your kind advice!
(I just shoot him another message about my vision, goals, etc..etc..)

Yeah! Give him some reasons why you want to go to dental school. Send your personal statement. Resume. Anything.

Ask the school. While some schools say that they want 3 letters from professors on their website, they are usually fine with 2 profs and 2 dentists.
