Do most schools send out rejection letters after they review your file if they don't want you in their class, or if you don't hear back from them about an interview can you automatically assume you're rejected?

each school works differently. some schools will wait for your secondary check and then reject u.

It depends: some will do it upon initial inspection, others will wait for secondaries, and more importantly secondary fees, to roll in before sending them out. I believe all schools have a policy of notifying applicants of their final stats (whether or not this happens is another thing).

What about rejections before December 1st after you have attended an interview?

I dont think many schools interview you and then reject you before dec. 1. I heard that columbia would send a rejection letter early... but that may be a myth. How did your UConn interview go? The ladies I interviewed with complimented a few things I had done but were not overly nice (just no signs of good or bad). Did you feel the same?

I think the interview went really well. Yeah I got a couple of compliments but nothing that would indicate a sure acceptance. Hope I get an acceptance there. After seeing the school I wouldn't mind spending 4 years in Hartford (school is in a very nice location).
