Hi everybody! I was hoping to hear thoughts from some TDs. I’ve received an offer for a postdoc position that is somewhere in the middle of my rankings. I would like to use this offer to request a reciprocal offer from my top choice site/position. My concern is that my second choice is also at this same site (a solid VA site) so I am worried that if the top choice decides to not make a reciprocal offer then the second choice will think I’m not that interested in them and will prioritize others. Frankly, I’d be extremely happy with either position!

Is it too risky to ask for a reciprocal offer when I’m also being considered for another position at the same site that I’m very interested in? Would learning that an applicant requested a reciprocal offer from another position lead you to prioritize other applicants?
