I've heard a lot of advice from a lot of people suggesting I get involved in research as an undergrad. I'm a neuroscience major and talked to over half the neuro faculty before I found one that was able to help me. He runs an EEG lab studying development of audio/visual processing in infants. I just started this summer and right now I'm just learning the ropes of the lab - scheduling mothers/babies, setting up the EEG equipment, putting the cap on the kids, etc. He told me that after I'm here a semester or so he wants me to start taking on even more responsibilities like learning to interpret the EEG findings, etc.
The research is pretty cool stuff to learn about, but would this be considered quality "research experience" for a medical school applicant? It is not really *my* research.. but I'm actively involved as an undegrad research assistant. If it is, I plan on staying in the lab at least a year until I apply next summer.
Also, I receive normal graded credit for Neuro 499R (3 credits/semester) for 10 hours/week. Will these relatively "easy As" count as part of my BCPM average?
