I got my braces off about 4 years ago and continue to wear my retainer at night a couple days a week. My question is, how long should one wear their retainer? My orthodontist sort of gave me the vague answer that I should wear it for 2 years continuously and that I can stop "when I think it is the right time." So, what is the right time? My friend's ortho told her that she should wear them until she turns 24 and growth has completely stopped. I'm 19 years old now. Thanks a lot.
