I know for a fact that if you retake a course, the higher grade of the two is used to calculate you're overall GPA.

I took orgo chem @ school A, if I took orgo chem again at school B and did better, then will my GPA for that class, from school B only be used to calc my overall gpa, assuming I dont take orgo chem at school A again ?

I plan to take a certain amount of arts courses and 1 science at school B- 3 total- then transfer to school A. How bad, if at all does this look ? Its 9 credits btw.

(school A and school B are different schools 😀)

thanks alot

I believe that is like taking courses at a community college and then having them transferred to a 4 year university. I personally don't think that it is a good idea to do this with a class like organic chemistry although you may be able to pull it off with the art courses which are probably required for you to graduate, but not pre-med requirements. I would recommend that all your pre-med required classes be taken at school A, where you will be getting you degree from, but speak to a pre-health adviser to see what he/she thinks.

ok..but is the higher grade counted even if i retake the course at a different institution ?

Generally yes. I mean the course does have to be comparable in content. I retook a general Bio and gen Chem class at a different university than the original and although they were titled somewhat differently they were counted as retakes.
