Question about Robbins pathology text

Hey all - I've got a question about the Robbins Pathologic Basis of Disease text. I know that the sixth edition is currently the most recent one, but I've heard conflicting things about a new edition coming out in the near future. Does anyone know when or if there is a new edition coming out? I ask because I am thinking of buying a used copy of the 6th edition from a 4th year...Thanks.

I don't know where you'd get that kind of info. Maybe ask your bookstore? They'll probably know or at least be able to find out for you.

Yeah I asked the bookstore people and they didn't know of a new edition forthcoming, however a few of my classmates have "heard" otherwise...Just thought I'd see if anyone on SDN had more solid info...Oh well, thanks.

Yeah, our path professor told us at the beginning of this school year that the new edition of Robbins would be coming out over the summer (2003). I haven't heard anything about it since, so I don't know if that's changed. The 6th edition is still an excellent book, but some of it is starting to get a little dated, especially their epidemiology data. You could probably still get by with the 6th edition even if the new edition comes out this summer.
