If I Were To Start Ross University On Jan. 2007,what Are My Chances That I Would Be Able To Start Residency On July 2010. (apply For Residency In 2009).

Ross Has This On Rolling Semester That's Kinda Confusing.

If Any Graduate From Ross Has Any Input......or If Anyone Has Any Experiences Pertaining To This Matter....please Helllllppp!!!!

I Want To Stay On Schedule, But, Ross Can't Give Me A Clear Cut Answer. Thank You

From my understanding (with the help of Ross admin), it is possible but highly unlikely especially if you prefer certain ACGME approved rotations.

Many of our friends started Jan. 03 and are starting residency this July. Very tight schedules doing clinicals almost up to the day of residency. This works if nothing goes wrong/unexpected and you are a good student. We waited several months to get the clinical placement we wanted so match will be next year for us.

So I Take It That It's Very Hard To Be On Schedule, But, Not Impossible. I'm Wondering How Many People Took Some Extra Time Versus Those Who Went Straight......i Kinda Like To Know The Percentage (an Estimate Will Be Ok) Of People Who Had To Wait Versus Those Who Did Things On Time. Greatly Appreciated. Thanks

I'm not sure how Ross works, but I have had a couple friends who began studies at SGU in January of whatever year they started. They were basically a semester "ahead" as opposed to "behind." That is, someone starting in January 2006 would likely opt to graduate in May 2010 (just like someone would if they started in August 2006). However, I do think there may be an option where you can just go through straight without taking any long breaks and save a semester's worth of time. I am sure Ross would have similar scheduling options.

If you go to Ross I would rccommend starting in May or September because if you start in January like I did, you will miss the match (in 3.5 years) unless you take your boards wih very litte preparation (which I woud not reccommend.) So January students will more than likely match in 4.5 years after they start.

I hope this helps.
