So I graduated back in June with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and I'm currently in my first semester of a post-bacc program to finish up my pre-med requirements.

In the next year and a half I'll need to take Bio 2, all of the chem and physics requirements as well as biochem, genetics and calculus. This semester I am taking Bio 1 and Chem 1 and I was wondering if I could get some advice about adding a third class. I know Bio1 and Chem1 is not a heavy load but I'm not sure what else I should take to round out the semester in terms of work. Should I take pre-calc? Another bio course?

Also, I am hoping to apply to med schools next fall (2013) for a Fall 2014 admission. I originally was planning on taking the MCAT this August 2013 (spending my summer taking Chem2 and studying for the MCAT from mid-May until late August). I am now under the impression that if I choose that test date then I would not receive my scores back until sometime in October and I would be applying near the end of the cycle.

Some of the courses that I took in undergrad:
Human Bio (B+)
Stats (B+)
Research Methods (A-)
Biological Psychology (A)
and a ton of other Humanities and Social Science courses including Ethics and Philosophy of Science.

If I add a math course this semester would I necessarily need to take pre-calc? Or could I manage to jump to Calculus (most likely while employing a tutor for support).

Potential options:
1) Add another class this semester and study for the MCAT over summer for an August test date?
2) Stick with the 2 classes this semester and start studying for the MCAT now for a June test date.
3) Some other idea that I haven't thought of yet that I'm hoping one of you fine future doctors would like to assist me with.

Thanks for your time and good luck to everyone!

so, you need to take 8 pre-MCAT classes including the 2 you're in now which leaves you with 6 to do after this semester.... and you want you take the MCAT this summer? My opinion is that not only will you risk not doing as well in your summer class as a result of MCAT studying, but you'll be taking the MCAT late. For the best chance I would apply as early ad possible, the first day you can
which is in June sometime. Meaning, take the MCAT in an April or so, get the scores back in May leaving a safe time to retake if needed, and then have all your stuff out in June. You have a lot of classes to finish before you apply... is waiting a year an option for you?

I'm confused....you haven't taken chem 2, bio 2, ochem 1 or 2, physics 1 or 2, and you want to take the MCAT in June? You need all of those classes for the MCAT, and biochem and genetics are also beneficial for the MCAT. You're gonna need to take another year of classes before taking the MCAT and applying.
