Do not freak out I have not been offered an interview at Hopkins...

Just a question... on one part of their website it says to email them with possible interview dates as soon as you submit your application. On another part it says you will be emailed to schedule an interview date once invited for an interview. Anyone know what the proper procedure is for them? I don't want to look presumptuous and email them before they get around to rejecting my application... ;-)

I know that Hopkins interviews all of its "in house" applicants regardless of the quality of their application, so maybe that blurb on the website is meant for them, not for the "outsiders"

good luck

i was told that we can go ahead and email a prospective date (even as soon as right now!) to the program coordinator before our application is complete - they like to have an idea about the most preferred dates. after they review our completed application and email an invitation, we can adjust the date as needed since our schedules may have changed by that time.

You are exactly right. Hopkins does ask that you to email your dates ahead of time. These dates are by no means binding. It gives us the ability to know when the most desired dates are since most of the offers aren't given till after the dean's letter goes out Nov 1. It has nothing to do with insiders or outsiders. Good Luck.
