Hey all,

This is my first post. I applied to 5 pod schools on the 29th of Sept (New York, Ohio, Des Moines, Illinois, and Arizona). I sent out my official transcript and 2 LORs on tuesday Sep 30, and even though none of the schools received them yet, I got an interview from all schools except Scholl. Scholl has the highest amount of required letters of recommendation (3 from a professor (science preferred) and one from a podiatrist that you've shadowed) and the auto-email I recieved from them informing me that they got my application stated: "Your application may be on hold for a complete file (letters, transcripts and MCAT); it is your responsibility to make sure that Scholl College Admissions have received all your requirements (please email inquiries). Please send all transcripts and required materials in immediately so that admissions evaluation is not delayed." Do you think they haven't invited me for an interview because they haven't received all my documents, or do you think they just don't want to interview me? Would they send me a rejection letter/email if the latter were true? Did anyone else recieve an invitation to interview with scholl who hasn't sent in all the necessary documents?
Thanks. If it helps, these are my credentials:
MCAT 26
Overall GPA: 3.44
Science: 3.3
Non Science: 3.8

They need a complete file to issue an interview if I remember correctly. It coulden't hurt to call them and ask them if they've gotten all of your paperwork....

Thanks dpmPOD, you made me feel a little better🙂 Now I have to worry about how am I going to get one more LOR from a professor. I've already gotten 3 LORs and pretty much exhausted all my resources. 4 LORs seems really excessive, I wonder why Scholl requires so many (I am aware that a composite evaluation letter from my pre-health advisor would have sufficed for 3 LORs but I am an idiot and decided to apply on my own).

Email the assistant director of admissions like it says in her email. She will tell you which Professor/DPM they have letters for. I am in the same situation as you though. I could have had the committee write me a composite evaluation but I would have had to start that last January, and I was not intending to go to a med or pod school back then. 🙁 I am still waiting on one professor to send in a letter as well. :scared:

Scholl is starting to really buckle down with admissions requirements. They were one of the first schools to accept only MCAT, and they are very rigid with their LORs. In fact, I think their "median" MCAT score this year for those who decided to attend was a 27 or 28 I believe...

They feel that the requirements for admission to podiatry school should really be no different than to MD or DO. Yes, 4 LOR is a little excessive, but when their is a will to get something done, there is a way, and you should have no issues getting that 4th LOR if you are interested in the school. I would say within the next few years, Scholl's admissions policies will be the same with all the podiatry schools. It's a good thing, trust me.

I completely agree that pod admission requirements should be as stringent as any other professional school, but what else can be said when you have 3 glowing reviews? :meanie:

I have a couple of professors in mind, but none of those profs know me "personally" so the quality of the letter might suffer a little. Anyway, Scholl is one of my top picks because their standards are so high, I just hope I get an interview there.
