I know this question might sound a bit stupid...😳
but I do wonder if I have to have all the schools that I attended to send the transcripts directly to AADSAS. Can I gather all the offical transcripts together and send them out on my own? I think it would be faster than having the schools to send for me.
Another question is...
I am done with O-Chem, G-Chem, Biology, Biochem, Anatomy, Physiology, Maths..(basically everything except Physics)
I am planning to take Physics over the summer, as well as the DAT...
Do you think it is ok for me to submit the application with any Physics class at that point?
Thank you!🙄

I don't think a school will give you an official transcript but I could be wrong. I think one of my schools mailed me an official copy when I just asked for a copy. With that said I think you HAVE to send them from the schools. I don't think dental schools want to receive them from any other sources. If you have three colleges like me call them in the beginning of May and tell them to mail yours to AADSAS ASAP. Some schools have a rush service that gets it out in a couple days. This might be worth the little extra money.

I think the registrar at my school will give you a copy of your official transcript in a sealed envelope.

about the physics thing........i think you should be find since you are going to take it over the summer.

Thank you for your replies. I just read the instruction on the AADSAS website and realize that they DO NOT accept any transcipt sent by applicant.😛

I've been trying to search the forums, I remember some people obtained sealed, official transcripts, and once the cycle opened, they printed/attached the matching forms to the outside of the sealed envelopes. They then sent a packet with all the envelopes/forms inside.

Did anyone do this and run into problems?

**I wouldn't mind waiting a week or so, but a foreign school that I attended while studying abroad takes 3-5 weeks to complete transcript requests AND I think it would be difficult to explain the AADSAS matching form.

Thanks for any advice!

Here's the AADSAS instruction booklet. It's for the current cycle but I doubt the rules will change. Pg 16 says they must be sent from the institution.

Yea, it might be a stretch, but I'm pretty sure people have mentioned sending sealed transcripts with the matching form attached in one bundle. I just can't find the thread.

I could see it being sketchy if the applicant opened official transcripts and put them all in one envelope. But a sealed transcript is a sealed transcript.

*What if I gathered all of the transcripts/matching forms in a packet and had my home university or pre-health advisor send it out?

Hoping someone will chime in who has had experience dealing with AADSAS and multiple transcripts.

nwdmd, rely first on the information that comes directly from the ADEA over anything you read on SDN. You can take a risk with something you heard on here, but with this you'll only gain a week on your verification process. If it doesn't work and AADSAS discards your student sent transcripts, you'll be a month behind.
I'm not sure what multiple transcripts has to do with it anyways. Is your school out of state? I sent in 5 different transcripts. It took me 1 day of driving around. Some schools even let you order them online now.

Yea if I don't hear anything positive I'll probably go the safe route. Thanks for your concern.

I wouldn't mind waiting a couple of weeks. However, it's a matter of mailing time to get the form to the foreign university + explaining the matching form + 3-5 weeks processing + mailing time from foreign university to AADSAS. (I'm estimating 6-9 weeks)

Kinda whack being as I only took language/culture classes, which don't count towards GPA or graduation requirements.

Any thoughts on having the transcript sent to a school official and having them forward it to AADSAS with the matching form?

i agree with bounty101. go with the safe route.

my school also said 2-4 weeks of "processing," but they send it out in like 2 days. i think........

just wait until may 15th and print out the transcript matching forms.

i think sending the matching form to a school official is a good idea. you might be able to fax them a copy?

For the US universities that I attended, I will have the registrar seal the matching form in with the official transcript.

However this might be a solution to dealing with the foreign transcript, I can have my "home" university registrar or adviser seal the foreign transcript in with the matching form to be sent off:

from an old thread: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=402117&highlight=official+sealed+transcripts

Last year I took my transcript in a sealed envelope directly from the registrar folded the matching form around the envelope fastened it with two paperclips, placed it in a prepaid overnight envelope, wrote the registrar's address in the return address section of the express envelope, and placed it in the mail without any problem from AADSAS. Though, I did call to make sure that it was alright that the registrar placed the matching form on the outside of the sealed envelope, which they said was fine.

I don't necessarily agree with playing the part of the registrar, but the idea of having a school official attach the form/send it in an additional envelope seems alright:

From what I understand the matching form is just so AADSAS can quickly match the transcript with an applicants file, nothing too official about it.

Official transcripts are typically on official paper with a seal or watermark, in a tamper-evident envelope.

I feel like I'm repeating myself and saying "official" a lot. 95% of my questions have been answered by searching this forum and I'd just like to get this clarified in case someone else has a similar problem in the future.

Sounds like that person tricked AADSAS into thinking the transcript was sent by their school. Not too far-fetched considering they get thousands upon thousand of transcripts and can't investigate each one for it's source. I still wouldn't recommend it, but I understand your reasoning (foreign universities). I doubt though that your univ will accept some envelope you give them to stuff in with their transcript mailing. Doesn't your foreign school have any sort of rush delivery?
