I've always been confused over the numerous terms for disciplines in the brain sciences that describe a mix between biology and psychology...such as behavioral neuroscience, neuropsychology, psychobiology, physiological psychology, etc etc. Are these all pretty much the same thing, or are there significant differences?

I generally don't differentiate between them. If there are differences I don't think they are significant.

I believe behavioural neuroscience implies more emphasis on in-depth study (i.e. molecular) of the brain - in my experience, this means a more research oriented area.

Neuropsychology tends to mean more clinical application (i.e. testing)

I'm sure someone will post with a better explanation, but that's what comes off the top of my head. 😎

Yes, and physiological psych can have ALOT to do with not only peripheral nervous system functioning, but also clinical medicine in general. There are ALOT of non-CNS functions that affect behavior and cognition down the line. This is the area that psychiatrists are always criticizing us for not knowing, not brain function/anatomy etc. They are correct is this criticism.
